The PEEVE is on. I just spent 29 minutes on the phone with my bank. Apparently some genius decided that to access your own account online or mobile, you must provide one of three options to get a code to open your own (blanketyblank) account.
Finally after they answered, they said they couldn’t talk to me unless I gave them three forms of ID. The first was the amount of the last deposit. I said a round number and they said, we need the exact amount. I answered, “well if I could get into my account to see it, I could give you the exact amount, but since I can’t, I can’t!” Then a driver’s license, I dont have.
At the end of the call I asked if all of the waiting to speak to someone and being on hold was caused by this problem and at least she admitted yes it was. She said they implemented the program in January as an update and are now trying to change it back.
Another example of how updates really screw up everything. Did Fandango have “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” this month on his FFE posts? If not, here’s one for you, F.
Meanwhile my iPad is now insisting on another update. I’m just trying to get used to the last one.
