Putting My Feet in the Dirt 15

I entered the state archives office to see if they had a record of my father’s birth. He was a twin and I had the date in 1908. I found the state didn’t start issuing birth certificates until 1909, so there was a measurement of improbability we would find anything.

Not to be daunted, two ladies searched a couple of huge tomes trying to locate what was called a retro certificate. They said to leave my information and gave me two places to check newspaper articles. When I arrived home, there was a message they found a small blurb in a local paper. It stated twins were born and were expected to remain in the area. Then something odd was added and partially faded. Something about short and generation. How strange! My dad and my aunt were not short, tall and thin actually. What a strange statement.

I messaged the ladies and asked if they knew what was meant by that, maybe a colloquialism of sorts? I’ll let you know if I hear anything new.
