It’s a new year, and maybe a time for a new look, a new perspective. The dragonfly, a symbol of change throughout the world, is depicted here a bit differently than the normal setting. If you look very closely, you will see the detail in sections of the body, the different colors, the two sets of amazing wings that can each move independently, with added ability to fly at speeds of 18 miles per hour, a sensory radar built in to determine their preys’ direction, making them able to intercept with accuracy. They also have endurance, as one species flew 11,000 miles over the ocean gaining the title of the world’s longest insect migration. They can fly sideways, backwards and hover for over a minute.
Continued from above:
“A study of 12 dragonfly species has found that each one has no fewer than 11, and some a whopping 30, different visual opsins.”
Their ability and agileness makes them often referred to as the “stealth bomber” of the insect world.

I titled this “tale” Perspective because when you observe something, or someone, even as quick as a beautiful dragonfly, you really have no idea what they’re about.
