Daily Prompt:  Commit

We all remember, if they don’t fit you can’t convict, or something on that order. From the chase on the highway to the trial of O.J. Simpson, the former football hero. We watched the highway chase in 1994 as we visited my daughter after our first grandson was just two weeks old. We traveled from TX to CO to see our precious grandson and were in love the first moment we saw him. The news story flooded the television as all of us being football fans, got a glimpse of the other side of this man.

The most important message here is the prompt commit. Our grandson was born with a birth defect and he required much more extra care than other newborns. He was rushed to the Children’s Hospital by ambulance moments after he was born. My daughter never got to see him because they whisked him away immediately. Her husband joined their son in the ambulance. I cannot fathom what she must have thought.

My daughter and her husband are not only completely committed to each other, twenty-four years now, but at the birth of their first son, it was clearly seen. The strength it takes to realize, okay this is a hurdle but we’ll get over it together. They’ve gone on to have eight children in all and the commitment gets stronger every year, for all of them.

  1. Ah, yes, “If the glove don’t fit, you must acquit.”

In terms of commitment, Cheryl, seems to me your little apple didn’t fall far from the tree. 😉 xoxoM
